WWAC Golf 2009
Vincent Massey Repeat as WWAC Golf Champions
Congratulations to Vincent Massey 1 for winning the WWAC Weir Division Championship over the Cinderella story Sturgeon Heights team. This marks a repeat for Vincent Massey who defeated St. Paul's in the final last year. The future looks bright for VMC, boasting a team which consists of mainly grade 11's and an Ames division team that finished first in their division, a third straight title looks like a strong possibility.
Unfortunately this marked the end for the Sturgeon Heights team who were ranked 5th going into the playoffs and upset #1 ranked Oak Park in a 3 hole playoff in the semi-finals.

What the season will look like this year...
2009 Season
- There will be 2 divisions.
- All teams have the option to be Co-ed, an all girls team, or an all boys teams.
- Schools will be allowed to field up to 2 teams of minimum 5 rostered players on each team. It is highly recommended that on competition day you have 4 players.
- The initial roster is due April 22, 2 days prior to the preseason tournament. The final team rosters for the regular season (i.e. designate players to 1 of the 2 teams) must be submitted by April 30th. There will be no crossover of players from team to team. If they are rostered on one team, they can only compete on that team.
Please address all replies to Mr. Woodhall (gwoodhall@pembinatrails.ca), Mr. Hebb (mhebb@pembinatrails.ca), and Ms. McKnight (amcnight@pembinatrails.ca).
Important note: All players will be required to sign a media waiver form so that their pictures can be posted on the website, they should be available from your office staff.
Rule Clarifications:
Each player hits his/her own ball through out the match as they would in a normal game, however, in match play format the team with the best individual score on a hole wins the hole. If teams tie on a hole, no wins are recorded for that hole.
- The team with the greatest number of wins on the front-nine gets one point.
- The team with the greatest number of wins on the back-nine gets one point.
- The team with the greatest number of wins over 18 holes wins a point.
- If each team has the same number of points on the front (back), then each team gets ½ point.
- For each match, there are 3 points available to be won.
